From Tradition to Metabolites: Exploring South African Honey Wine (Iqhilika)

We are delighted to announce a new webinar in our series Fermented Beverages Across the World! During this session, Dr. Lethiwe Lynett Mbuyane, Senior Lecturer in Food Science, will introduce Iqhilika, a traditional South African honey wine. She will explore how traditional knowledge and modern metabolomics can help us better understand this unique fermented beverage, its microbial and chemical diversity, and its potential.
